Month 26 - Bye bye Nen Nen

It has been over a week now that I have not fed you. Initially you will cry each time you asked for Nen Nen cip cip  (sleep sleep). Then I'll hug you with you lying on me till you sleep. You still have difficulty falling asleep now when you were one of the easiest previously. You still asked for Nen Nen. Ader side (other side) occasionally but now you know that there won't be any and sometimes say No Nen Nen.
I really miss it too. But at least I had a good 26 months with you.

Year 2 + 1 Month Old - Says 'Me'

Today when asked 'Who is Superboy?', instead of your usual reply - Dan-Dan, you said 'Me!' And you repeated the answer later as well using Me instead of Dan-Dan now.

You also say 'gif (please) open me' when we trap you. Funny things you say.

Month 24 Happy 2nd Birthday!

You can finally thumbs up.
You can somersault and over doing it.
Sings Twinkle Twinkle with actions. So cute.
Said Yes to my question for the very first time today! Usually you won't say yes. 

Month 22 - Making sense of things

Just dropped Popo at the bus station sending her off back to Ipoh and you just kept going on and on saying "Popo Ipoh, Popo Ipoh". U seem to know she's leaving for Ipoh.

Month 22 - independent boy

U want to discuss everything on your own now... feeding self although u tend to make a big mess most times. Sometime I try to gain control of the spoon for less mess but u will create a fuss. Sometimes I feed you coz u tend to stuff loads into your mouth at one time but you will not have that.

U remove pieces of clothing on your own  and try to wear them too. But when you get stuck, all hell break loose!

U now know lots of words and will keep repeating something to us until we acknowledge what u said. If you are telling Papa something and I answer you, you will continue to tell Papa the same thing till he answers instead of me!

U know all the images on the flashcard we are using and also in the ABC book. Can't flip the book from front to back. U want to read whichever page you want and just flip whenever you like...

U are so fast now! And really such a daredevil! You climb through the ladder past the tunnel and down the closed slide in seconds! And repeat a million times getting more and more excited each time! Without shoes! As though you have been doing that from birth!

U love singing. Spontaneously out your mouth will be Twinkle Twinkle and Baa Baa Black Sheep. Last night you were pressing on one of your toys and went on and on singing Row Row row your boat over and over and over again.

U are just sooooo cheeky just sooooo cute! Can't stay angry with you hence you get away with many things. Hmm.... love u lots anyhow, my handsome Boo.

Month 21 - Singing Sensation

You just looooove to sing and dance and make music! Even now while breastfeeding you, instead of getting you to nap, you are singing away! 😅

Your favourite hits is still Twinkle Twinkle and Baa Baa Black Sheep. But you sing all the hit songs we listen to as well as Praise and Worship ones at church including the doxology. 😁You even sang Mama a birthday song on my birthday! Love it!

You dance even to the steady snipping sound of the scissors when I cut your food up into small pieces!

And you will use anything to create sounds and make noise, .. I mean music, and dance...

Keep singing and making music for the Lord, dearest one. 😊

Year 4

At dinner today...

J: Mama I don't want to grow up.
M: Then don't grow up.
J: I also don't want you to grow old.

Month 21 Loves to Sing

You break out in song daily... Twinkle Twinkle and Baa Baa Black Sheep are your current hits. But you know most songs we put on in the car. From nursery rhymes to Hi5 to Praise&Worship to current hits. 

Copies what we say. Funny. I said come wash your Bum Bum then go downstairs. U say gesmrbwysnnddownstairs. Lol.

Grace at dinner today... mumble mumble mumble..
AMEN! Lol.

Loves playing the piano.  And sings along.

Loves food but can be picky. Dislikes carrots and tomatoes.

Year 7 - High achiever

Yesterday Top in Class for ballet Primary even though skipped 2 grades. Time for another treat!

Top in class, 2nd in form for the 2nd time.

Well done my sweets.

Year 4 + 4 months old - Dressing Self

Just watched you turn your pajamas inside out and wearing it all on your own. Impressed at how independent you are. Guess you had to be being the middle child. Well guess it's a good thing too.

Was also impressed at how you managed to read the Chinese series of books just now while Che Che was having her Mandarin tuition. You managed to read Book 1 with ease. Now moving onto Book 2. You are also enjoying your Mandarin tuition in school. Which is great. It is Mama and Papa's hope that all three of you are able to grasp the language well even though you are in a non-Chinese medium school. Will be great to be able to converse and understand our mother tongue, don't you think? After all we do have Chinese roots.

Month 18 - check up, sleep and lump

Went for your 18-month check up. Tiring. You are curious and running all over. At the same time I think you are tired as you also allowed me to carry you and you lie still on my shoulder. Love having you do that... lie on Mama's shoulder and you will flop on it.

These two days since you turned 18 months old, you didn't wake up at your usual 7 ish am. Instead you slept till after 10! Well you have been sleeping late too as we have been out. Let's see if the trend continue or you have grown older and nothing excites you that much now so you'd rather sleep. Haha.

Found two lumps at the back of your head.  One has been there for some time jut it was small previously and seemed to have grown. The other could have been from a fall yesterday. According to Che Che you fell from slipping off the bed and knocked your head although her description would have resulted in a bigger more even bump rather than a sharp pointed lump. Hmm... Bringing you to the docs later to have a check and praying that all is OK.

When you are tired and want to sleep you will roll onto the mat and says 'nennen'. You sometimes go and get the muslin for me too.

Month 17+29 Hungry baby

We forgot to feed you as you were asleep after church. Well you had a bit of egg and all during the Easter party celebration in Sunday School but that's about it and fell asleep soon after. Came home late today as we went to the market. You went straight to the kitchen to grab the bread container. You must have been super hungry. You ate two bowls of rice with soup. Poor baby. But now we know you know what to do when you are hungry! Haha.

Month 16 - Iron boy's vocabulary

You have been climbing up anything and everything. Chairs are common. Tables too these days. Our coffee table and even dining seems to be a favourite. The minute my eyes are off you, you will take the opportunity to climb. We found you on top of the small rattan chair to get keys from the top of the shoe rack where the keys are! Or you will climb up the grill in a second to get the set of keys dangling from the lock too. Shocking!

So far still not much said. You can sign 'more', 'thank you' and sometimes 'please'. Speech wise still mainly Mama. More Papa now too. There's 'ball' and the same sound for 'bird' too. Today you also said 'nennen' very clearly. You make loads of sounds like Wah... or Vrmm when playing with your cars or when you are being pushed on the scooter. You have just learnt the words Open and Star. Love how you say things so confidently especially Star (darrr!).

Hide and seek still a favorite game of yours. I have seen how you enjoy removing and poking the straw back into your milk box and decided to cut a hold at the top of an empty puffs container for you to slot in Popsicle sticks. You love it and can do it over and over and over again! The other thing we do to keep you occupied when out is to insert puffs into pill containers and let you open them one by one to get the puffs out to eat. 

Papa came back with Che Che Kor Kor one of those days and you got so excited seeing them you shouted Kor Kor and almost jumped from a squat!

You pat your hands when we sing Pat-a-cake. You scream when we finish off Row Row Row Your Boat with if you see a crocodile, don't forget to scream. You put your hand up for Big when we sing My God is so Big. 

You put your hands together to say grace before each meal. 

Oh you just seem to know so much now! It's amazing. Thank you God! 

 

Month 16 - Comunicating

Mama is still the top word used in your daily communication. I love to hear you say it with a higher pitch at the end. Sometimes as though you are playing a hide and seek game with your voice. Today you also actually called out Papa at Papa. When he was about to reverse the car out to work. You just kept saying Papa till he left. There's an unclear Kor-kor and Cheche amd also a Popo here and there. Today you also said BALL for the very first time. At 16 months and 4 days old. I asked you to say BALL and you did! Just like that.

You also tried to sign Milk and More once.

When we say grace, you are able to put your hands together.

Your hair was getting a bit unruly although you don't have much of it. So I made the difficult decision to finally trim some off both sides and the fringe. You look so different now. Like a grown up boy. And I'm not used to it. I miss my baby. That's the end of your baby looks. Sigh. ..
