Diet and cravings

These days I eat differently. I have quite specific cravings at times and generally stay away from seafood. Tonight I wanted fried meehoon. This afternoon was simple spaghetti with garlic and olives. I reach for fruits more often nowadays.  I have a big tub of yogurt in the fridge to curb hunger pangs especially during tea time. There's also spicy and sour foods in the list. Like how I will need, yes need some preserved food especially in the evening to keep nausea at bay. I don't eat preserves. Now I need them. But generally, it's simple and clear food. No oily ones. Small meals throughout the day. Pretty good eh?

We joke saying that it's a good thing to have cravings. Then we don't have to spend too much time thinking of what to eat or where to go. Which is true. This time is similar to my first pregnancy with your Che-che. Let's see how long will this go on...

Another bundle of joy again!

Life had been nothing but busy obviously with two. Now the fun is about to be tripled since we discovered your existence three weeks ago on 29 January 2014.

We went back to Ipoh for Chinese New Year this year instead of our annual trip to Pangkor. We got back on the 5th day and went to Dr Ng the next day on 5 February. He had a full clinic but gave us a slot as I had some spotting. Probably just breakthrough bleeding like when I was pregnant with your koko J previously. This is our first glimpse of you... you were about 6-7 weeks then. Only a blob. A pea.

6-7 weeks old

Then you grew. Quickly. And now we can make out your head and limbs roughly during today's scan.

9 weeks old

We were supposed to return for a check up only next Sunday but I had slight bleeding/ spotting since last Saturday. We went in again last Sunday to make sure all is well. We saw Dr Selma as Dr Ng was on leave. I was so anxious expecting the worst and could only mutter Thank God when I saw your heart beating on the screen. You had no idea how relieved I was then. She detected some slight bleeding at the placenta and prescribed me Duphaston to help with the pregnancy. I continued to bleed slightly thus went back to Dr Ng today after consulting with him on the phone. Thankfully the bleeding stopped today. And another big relief when the heartbeat was detected. Dr Ng found a polyp which looked like it was bleeding and still sore around it. He concluded that that is the source of the bleeding which is not pregnancy related and I can stop taking Duphaston. Praise God! All is well.

Cheche O (4y8m) is eagerly anticipating your arrival. Am sure koko J (2y2m) too though he's not very sure what exactly is happening yet. We are expecting to welcome you on 27 September and you may very well share the same birthday with your Papa on 22nd! Meanwhile, we continue to pray that you will grow healthily and safely and normally the next 31 or so weeks!

How Do I Feel Now (9 weeks)
At this very moment, there's a lot of discomfort from indigestion. Not helping when I'm craving sour and spicy food. Had curry noodles for breakfast and sour veg (choy keok) at lunch. Had a big mug of milk just now but doesn't seem to be helping.

Other than that, sluggish most times. I get fatigue attack on and off. Putting off doing most things. So am thankful my mom and DH'S dad came to help the this last week. Mom will be coming again. Thankful indeed. Every little help counts now.

It's night sickness again like with cheche O. And I have not been brushing my teeth at night unless I happen to wake up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. Otherwise my dinner will plug the sink. (Sorry TMI!)
